How to Use a Prayer Journal to Treasure and Grow Deeper in Love with God
Would you like to deepen your prayer life and experience a richer love for God?
That answer may be as simple as writing a few sentences a day in a dedicated journal — a prayer journal.
If this seems strange to you, as it did to me, it is helpful to know that some of the greatest saints: Mother Theresa, Thomas Aquinas, and the great missionary apostle Paul, wrote down their praise to God and their reflections of living a God-centered life.
They discovered the unconditional love of God through reading the Bible, prayer, encounters with a faith community, and personal reflection.
In return, they wrote love letters to God, who is the source of all life and loved them unconditionally.
Many ordinary people keep a journal and write about their experiences with prayer or about God. Throughout hundreds of years, the people who loved God wrote to God, using pen and paper.
A prayer journal helps develop a spiritual practice, a habit of prayer, and gives you a private place to express your love and devotion to God.
